A motorcycle policeman fell into a hole in the road in Bucharest while on a mission on Tuesday evening, October 20. He died at the hospital later in the evening due to the severe injuries.

The accident took place on Stirbei Voda Boulevard, near the Casa Radio building, in a central area of Bucharest. The hole, which was a few meters deep, had been dug for work on the gas pipelines and was marked with a fence and yellow tape, according to Digi 24.

The 28-year old cop was rushing towards an intersection in the area to clear the way for a motorcade. It was raining and visibility was rather low.
