Polish Getin Holding to take over Romanian International Bank
Romanian International Bank (RIB) will be taken over by Polish financial group Getin Holding, founded by Leszek Czarnecki, reported news agency Mediafax.
RIB, controlled by Daniel and Florina Roberts, ended last year with a loss of RON 10.8 million (some EUR 2.4 million).
Getin Holding is one of the biggest companies listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
The financial group operates on the Eastern European markets, where it controls three banks and a lease company.
It has activities in banking, financial intermediation, insurance, and leasing sectors.
In the first half of 2013, Getin Holding recorded a net profit of some EUR 27.7 million, down from around 124 million recorded in the same period the previous year.
