Popular Romanian singer invests EUR 0.5 mln in full size wake park

27 March 2017

Romanian artist Dan Bittman, the lead singer of local rock band Holograf, has invested over EUR 500,000 in the first full size wake park in Romania.

He has begun setting up the park on the Sulimanu lake in the village of Sarulesti, which will include a water ski school for kids as well as professional facilities, reports local Profit.ro.

The park called “A2Wake” will be built near the A2 highway some 50 kilometers east of Bucharest. It will have zip wires and inflatable equipment, and possibly a pool. The area also has facilities for football, tennis, and basketball.

Bittman is also trying to set up a restaurant, which involves an additional investment of EUR 100,000. The money comes from the artist’s own funds, without any EU funds.

“It is a new business. Until now, this business has been related to fishing, but I had no spiritual satisfaction," said Bittman.

He acquired the Sulimanu slop in 2005 via a tender. The new park will be opened at the beginning of May.
