Portuguese fighter aircraft stationed in Romania for NATO drill
Four F-16 fighter aircraft belonging to Portugal’s airforce have arrived at the Campia Turzii military base in Romania where they will remain until the end of June for a NATO military exercise.
The drill is called Falcon Defence 2015 and aims to increase interoperability between NATO member states, according to IHS Jane’s military magazine, reports local Mediafax.
This exercise is also part of NATO’s measures to improve the security of the alliance’s eastern members as tensions with Russia are on the rise.
