Portuguese Sonae Sierra starts work at the EUR 111 mln mall in Craiova
Portuguese company Sonae Sierra, which holds a portfolio of 49 malls in Europe and South America, will begin this month the construction of Adora commercial center in Craiova, following an investment of EUR 111 million. The new mall in Craiova will include 190 shops and 1,900 parking spaces.
Adora shopping center will have a leasable area of 59,000 sqm, and has signed contracts for 40 percent of the area, among future tenants being included Cora, Cinema City, Altex, Orsay or Pure Fitness.
The Portuguese have bought the land for the project in Craiova, since 2007, but the economic crisis put its plans on hold.
On the local market, the Portuguese developer Sonae Sierra owns River Plaza, with a rentable area of 11,950 sqm, and was designated the rental agent for commercial centers such as Magnolia in Brasov, Sun Plaza, Vitanis and Carrefour Militari in Bucharest.
