World War II bombs found on a construction site near Romania’s Alba Iulia
A team of workers found two bombs on a construction site near Alba Iulia, in central Romania.
They’ve discovered the bombs while working on a disaffected road bridge and announced the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (ISU), Alina Marescu, ISU spokesperson told local Mediafax.
Following the workers’ call, a team of pyrotechnics went on site and discovered 11 other bombs, similar to those found by the people working on the construction site. The bombs are believed to be from the World War II period.
“The ammunition found was taken away and transported to a special warehouse of the Inspectorate, and will be later destroyed,” Alina Marescu said.
On Friday, the pyrotechnics specialists continued to check the area for other bombs.
