Romanians Adopt Remainians, a campaign launched by Romanian online newspaper Gandul and local advertising agency GMP Advertising/Webstyler after this year’s Brexit, was among the winners of the Internetics 2016 competition.

The campaign won Silver in the Viral Non Video section and the Online PR Special Projects category, and was the winner of the Art, Culture, Media and Entertainment section.

Meanwhile, MRM // McCann Romania was awarded the Agency of the Year trophy, as well as three Gold and three Silver awards, while KFC got the trophy for the Most Creative Client of the Year.

The Romanians Adopt Remainians campaign encouraged Romanians to reach out to the Brits who voted to remain in the EU, and symbolically adopt them. The initiative from the same Romanian website that launched the Why don’t you come over campaign a few years back, as a response to fears over Romanian immigration in the UK. The project won one of Asia’s biggest ad festivals and the first prize at the Eurobest awards.
