President asks Parliament to approve NATO HQ in Romania
Romanian President Klaus Iohannis has asked the Parliament to approve the establishment of a NATO division in the Bucharest Garrison.
He said that in the context of the Ukraine crisis and Russia’s aggressive actions, the NATO summit in Great Britain represented a landmark for testing the solidarity of NATO’s members, reports local Mediafax.
In order to implement the measures established during the NATO summit, the North-Atlantic Alliance needs to set up divisions on the territory of its Eastern allies, which include Romania, Bulgaria, Poland and the Baltic countries.
