Preventive arrest for the owners of Bucharest’s deadly club
Paul Gancea, Alin Anastasescu, and Costin Mincu, the three owners of Colectiv Club in Bucharest, are to spend the next 30 days in jail as the court decided to place them under preventive arrest.
The decision ruled by Bucharest District 4 Court is not final, reports local Agerpres. The three owners were detained on Monday evening, November 3, being charged with manslaughter and negligent bodily injuries.
However, the investigation continues. Those in charge with investigating the tragic incident at Colectiv Club collected mobile phones and video cameras from the club and are analyzing the images on them.
The nightclub caught fire on Friday night, due to some fireworks lighted in a place whose interior design was inadequate for such activities. According to investigators, the nightclub turned to ashes in just two minutes, reports local Digi24.
Media reports show that there were more than 400 people in the club when the tragedy took place, way above the place’s permissible limit. 32 lost their lives following the fire at Colectiv Club, while 133 people are still admitted in hospitals.
