Prince Edward of Great Britain, Earl of Wessex and Sophie (in picture), the Countess of Wessex are coming to Romania for the first time for an official three-day visit this week. The royal couple will be hosted by Romanian Princess Margareta and Prince Radu, and the Romanian Royal Family will soon announce the public events that the British royal couple will attend.

The events will be connected to the 75-year celebration since founding the British Council and the upcoming introduction of the Duke of Edinburgh International Award in Romania.

The International Award was created by the Duke of Edinburgh in 1965 to help develop the physical and mental qualities of young people from under-privileged environments. In Romania, Princess Margaret will be the royal patron of Duke of Edinburgh Award Romania.
