Pro-Dean at Bucharest’s economic university, investigated for bribery
A teacher at Bucharest’s Economic Studies Academy (ASE) was taken in for questioning by prosecutors from the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA), on Friday, July 18. The teacher, Ilie Cosmin Serbanescu is also one of the Pro-Deans of the Finance and Banks Faculty at ASE.
His house and his office at the university were searched by the police, according to sources in the police department quoted by Mediafax.
Serbanescu is currently investigated for allegedly taking bribes from students in order to help them pass the final exams. According to the same sources, he would take EUR 400 to 500 for intervening in the exam commission to give passing grades to the respective students.
A total of eight suspects are investigated in this case.
