Production of Romanian mineral water Borsec up 20-fold since 1996
Production of Borsec, the best-selling mineral water brand in Romania, went up 20-fold after becoming part of Romaqua Group, to 320 million liters in 2012.
“From a production volume of 15 million liters in 1996, we managed to end 2012 with a total of 320 million liters produced,” said Octavian Cretu, president of Romaqua, quoted by local daily Zf.ro.
Borsec joined Romaqua Group’s portfolio in 1997, which also includes Giusto soft drinks, Stanceni natural mineral water, Albacher beer and Quick Cola soft drink.
In 2012, Romaqua Group, owned by Romanian businessmen Octavian Cretu and Nicolae Palfi, recorded a turnover of over EUR 130 million in 2012.
