Romania’s National Prognosis Commission will change its name and get more responsibilities, the Government decided on Thursday, April 12.

The institution will be named the National Strategy and Prognosis Commission and will continue to be under the Government’s authority.

Besides making forecasts on the evolution of the local economy, the commission will also draft economic and social development programs. It will also monitor and manage state aid schemes and public-private partnerships, starting this year.

Moreover, the commission will also participate in coordinating activities related to Romania’s euro adoption process.
