Projector sales go up in Romania in 2015
The Romanian video projectors market had continued its growing trend in 2015 when it increased by 19% compared to the year before.
According to data from BenQ, the local market passed the 20,000 units threshold last year. Some EUR 12 million worth of projectors were sold in Romania in 2015.
In the fourth quarter, the number of projectors dedicated to the UST (Ultra-Short Throw) educational segment registered an increase of 51%, those with interchangeable lens posted a growth of 22%, and the number of products for the business/education sector, with brightness of over 3000AL, also increased by 28%. The professional projectors with a brightness of 6000AL also registered a 50% increase over the previous year.
“The development of the educational segment and the maturing of the corporate area, especially in the field of professional products, are two of the factors that led to substantial increases in projector sales. The clients started to be more selective when it comes to choosing a projector, and to understand the necessity of such a product in their homes, at work, or in classes,” said Dragos Salamac, Team Leader BenQ CEE for Romania.
BenQ remained the market leader in Romania last year, with a market share of 36.7%. The most expensive projector the company sold in Romania in 2015 had a price of around RON 65,000 (some EUR 14,000).
