The minimum wage should be different based on Romania’s development regions, according to a proposal made by the Labor Ministry.

Representatives of the ministry met with trade unions and employers on Friday.

The minimum salary could also be established in the negotiations between unions and employers, and not be established by the Government anymore, according to another proposal made during the meeting, reports local Digi24.

The country has imbalances, and needs several minimum salaries. Bucharest is very different from the north-east region, said Dumitru Costin, National Union Bloc leader.
