Romanians to protest for better infrastructure on March 15

12 March 2019

Romanian companies and people joined the initiative of a protest to be held on March 15, at 15:00 for a period of 15 minutes against the authorities’ failure to develop decent infrastructure, primarily motorways, in the country.

One notable example is that of Danish furniture retailer JYSK, which announced it would also join the campaign, local Ziare.com reported.

The unprecedented protest is the initiative of local businessman Stefan Mandachi, who built the first and only section of motorway in Moldova (eastern part of Romania), indeed stretching only 1 metre. He spent 4,500 euros and his motorway will be inaugurated during the national protest of 15 minutes, on March 15.

Many companies and people have shown their intention to protest with him. Events are promoted under #sieu hashtag.
