Provident Financial reaches EUR 100 mln investments in Romania, wants 0.5 mln clients

More than 400,000 customers have used Provident Financial Romania's services, the company's investments in Romania exceeding EUR 100 million in the last five years, according to the company. The consumer finance company Provident celebrated five years on the Romanian market, an event attended by Martin Harris, UK Ambassador in Romania.

The company currently has 600 employees, 215,000 clients and 46 offices. In the future, it wants to grow the number of employees to 1,000, the number of clients to 500,000, and the number of offices to 70. Provident Financial offers small, short-term, unsecured loans.

“This year we will continue expanding operations by opening at least four new offices in Romania, in Suceava, Botosani, Alba-Iulia and Turda. We will continue to invest in our operations and people development, and we expect to reach national coverage in the coming years", said Russell Johnsen, general manager of the company.

Provident Financial Romania started in 2006 through a pilot operation in Bucharest. The company is part of the British group International Personal Finance, with over 2.2 million customers worldwide. The group is included in the FTSE 250 index of London Stock Exchange and has 6,200 employees working with more than 26,000 agents in six countries, on two continents.
