A conflict has emerged between some of the pilots who work for state-owned airline Tarom, and the airline’s CEO. Some of them sent a letter to the CEO saying the airline is in a tailspin, that it urgently needed a leader.

“With all due respect, you are not that leader,” they wrote CEO Edouard Heinzmann, reports local Hotnews.ro.

Heinzmann, who invited the pilots to talks on the topics they opened, also said that even though he is Tarom’s first Western CEO, he has never received Western tools to fix the years of mistakes that have affected the company.

He added that the company is not bankrupt and that the financial situation has improved in the last two years, despite the problems gathered over several years and the competition from low-cost carriers.
