10 January 2012

Romanians are less interested in buying used cars than in 2010 according to an Autovit.ro market analysis of used cars for 2011. Although the number of second-hand cars for sale increased by 29.58 percent, 2011 brought a 13 percent decrease in the number of transactions of used cars, according to the Romanian Directorate for Driving and Vehicle Registration.

The most bought used cars were, as in 2010, the German brands, namely Volkswagen, Opel and BMW. On the other side, the least bought brands were Fiat, Peugeot and Dacia.

The number of used cars out for sale at a price bellow or equal to EUR 5,000 increased by 16 percent compared to 2010 while the number of cars listed with a price between EUR 5000 and EUR 10,000 decreased by 9.36 percent.

Autovit.ro's study was conducted during January-December 2011, based on the volume of ads listed on the site.
