Queen Mary's hand X-Ray and trilobite fossil on sale at oddities auction in Bucharest this week

Currently in a bidding spree, Romanian auction house Artmark has put up for sale several peculiar items, including an X-ray of Queen Mary's right hand, fossils and decorative desk art.

The auction will take place on May 17 at the Artmark headquarters. On the same day Artmark will also organize an auction for furniture and office accessories, where the star is a unicorn sculpture by Salvador Dali, at a starting price of EUR 25,000.

Over 70 peculiar and rare items will be on sale at the Peculiars Auction. The X-ray of Queen Mary's right hand was made by the first Roentgen machine in Romania in 1896. She X-rayed her hand to show that the machine was safe. The starting price for this item is EUR 250.

A pair of candlesticks made from First World War missiles along with a rare trilobite fossil – one of the first animals with a skeleton, which populated the Earth around 300 million years ago will also be sold at the auction. The starting price for the fossil is EUR 800.
