QuickMobile: Romanian women spend more than men on gadgets
Romanian women show an increased interest in wearable gadgets such as bracelets and smart watches and spend 20% more than men on these products, according to local online gadget retailer QuickMobile.
Fashion and accessories trends determine women’s behavior in the online environment, as they seek to match their outfits with the latest technologies. Around 35% of women spend their money on mobile phones and tablets, 25% on fitness bracelets and 15% on smart watches, said Tudor Tiboc, general manager QuickMobile.
Most of the women who prefer online shopping are aged between 25 and 34. In terms of budgets, 24% of them spend between RON 500 and RON 1,000 (EUR 112 - EUR 225) during one shopping session. Only 7% of them are willing on pay more than RON 2,500 (EUR 564).
In addition to this, during special events, 20% of the orders placed by men are also gifts for the women in their lives.
Romanian women tend to pay attention mainly to the gadget’s aspect before buying it. A product is more attractive if it comes in a wider range of colors or if its appearance can be easily changed by replacing some details.
Active women with a sporty lifestyle are the ones mainly buying fitness bracelets.
QuickMobile also notices an increased interest for accessories such as mobile phones covers, headphones, external batteries and screen protective films.
“The difference between men and women is seen not only when it comes to the budget, but also when it comes to the speed of purchase. Unlike men who go through a long process of comparing the functionalities of products to find the best quality for the money they spend, most women spend about 5 minutes on the site and stop at the first object that offers them an enviable accessory and easy access to information,” said Tiboc.
