Raiffeisen Romania may get EUR 50 mln credit lines from European Investment Bank

The European Investment Bank (EIB) may extend credit lines worth EUR 50 million to Raiffeisen Group Romania, for financing of investments and leases on a small and medium scale by SMEs, mid-cap companies and other beneficiaries, according to an EIB statement.

Under the deal Raiffeisen Bank Romania may receive EUR 35 million, while Raiffeisen Leasing IFN could get EUR 15 million. However, the credit lines are still under appraisal. See the EIB statement here.

Raiffeisen Bank International posted an after-tax profit of EUR 60 million in the first nine months of 2011 in Romania, a drop of 29.1 percent on the same period of 2010. The group’s provisions stayed the same at some EUR 52 million, while its assets grew by 10.9 percent, reaching some EUR 6.2 billion in Romania.
