Rail passengers going to the Romanian seaside up 52 percent
Passenger traffic on Romania's trains going to and from the seaside increased by 52 percent in the last weekend in July, compared with the first weekend of the month, while traffic to and from the mountains increased by 24 percent, Romanian railways company CFR announced today ( July 31 ).
According to the source, the weekend July 27 to 29, over 26,400 passengers chose train travel to and from the seaside, over 9,000 more than on the first weekend of the month, while more than 28,600 passengers traveled by train to and from mountain areas, up over 5,500 the first weekend of July.
Due to the increasing traffic to Romania's tourism destinations, CFR Calatori recommends buying train tickets in advance. Plus, when buying in advance with travel licenses discounts between 5 and 13 percent are available.
