RBS names Henk Paardekooper president of Romanian subsidiary
The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) has appointed Henk Paardekooper as president of the bank's Romanian division, pending clearance from the Romanian Central Bank (BNR). He will replace Johan Gabriels, who has been running the bank since 2009.
Paardekooper specializes in emerging markets. Previous to joining the RBS Romania, he was head of corporate and institutional assets in RBS' non-core division in London, where he was responsible for RBS operations in various countries. From 2004 to 2010 he led the RBS Russia subsidiary. In 2007, he took over at the helm of operations in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. Henk Paardekooper led the corporate finance consulting team of ABN Amro in the Netherlands before 2004.
