real,- Hypermarket Romania adds more wines on the menu as they make 10% of its food and beverage sales

With wines accounting for around 10 percent of real,- Hypermarket Romania's food and beverage sales a year, the retailer has decided to expand the selection of wines it sells in its stores. It has recently introduced new wines from Georgia, Turkey and China into its offer, reaching a selection of 600 wines from across the world. Out of these, 320 are Romanian wines. real,- Hypermarket has recently launched a printed catalog with the wines in its offer.

The retailer started to include larger wine and alcoholic beverages selling areas within its new hypermarkets from 2007 and currently runs a wine tasting system called Enomatic in six of its newest stores. The retailer is considering reshuffling older stores to cater for the wine areas and for the wine tasting system, but no decision has been made yet, Oana Borse, wine and spirits category specialist with real,- Hypermarket Romania told romania-insider.com

real,- Hypermarket Romania runs 25 stores in the country and is part of the German Metro group.  The retailer is headed by Michel Lamoot, who is the general manager of the Romanian operations.
