Regina Maria opens first clinic in western Romania
Private healthcare operator Regina Maria has opened its first unit in Timisoara, western Romania, following a EUR 1 million investment.
The new clinic is one of the largest in the company’s network, with a surface of 1,000 sqm, 16 medical offices, and a regional medical tests laboratory. It has a team of over 30 doctors.
Last week, Romania’s Competition Council has approved the takeover of the Regina Maria by the investment fund Mid Europa Partners (MEP) Capital Investments. In August, Mid Europa Partners signed an agreement to buy 100% of Regina Maria. The deal’s value hasn’t been made public, but market experts place it at over EUR 100 million, which makes this the largest transaction in the local healthcare sector to date.
The company has over 3,000 employees and contributors and serves over 1.2 million retail patients.
