Renaissance Capital opens office in Romania after winning bid for OMV Petrom stake sale
Russian investment bank Renaissance Capital, which has recently won the bid to intermediate the secondary public offering of a stake in Romanian oil and gas company OMV Petrom will open an office in capital city Bucharest, the bank has announced. Moreover, it plans to turn the Romanian market into one of the most important in the region at a group level, according to Milutin Nikolic, who has led the Renaissance Capital team in the Petrom mandate.
The Bucharest office will offer merger and acquisition services, consultancy in privatizations and financing for local companies. It currently works on two mergers and acquisition projects for Romanian private clients and intends to pursue privatizations in industries like oil and gas, utilities, banking sector, consumer goods and infrastructure.
Renaissance Capital is an investment bank focused on the emerging markets of Russia, Eastern Europe, Central Asia and Africa. Renaissance Capital was founded in 1995 by a group of partners, including Stephen Jennings, currently the CEO of Renaissance Group, as well as Boris Jordan, and Leonid Rozhetskin.
OMV Petrom is the largest oil and gas producer in South-Eastern Europe. With activities in exploration and production, refining, marketing, gas and power, Petrom has proved oil and gas reserves of 854mn boe, a maximum refining capacity of 8mn tpa, approximately 540 filling stations in Romania and 270 filling stations in Moldova, Bulgaria and Serbia.
