Renault Group invests EUR 35 million for staff training in Romania

Carmaker Renault invested around EUR 35 million in training employees in Romania between 2000 and 2011, according to the company. There are two training centers in Romania, one in Mioveni and the other one in Bucharest, with 520 internal trainers.

The company also has 13 training sites for dexterity at its factory in Mioveni, and 11 “DOJO spaces” for manufacturing employees. In total, Renault paid for 5.5 million training hours. In 2011, 520, 000 training hours were provided for 15,200 employees.

Renault entered the Romanian market in 1999, taking over the Automobile Dacia factory in Pitesti when it was privatized by the Romanian state. Renault turned Dacia into an international brand and raised production in Pitesti from 86,000 vehicles in 1999 to over 340,000 in 2010.
