Report: Mergers & acquisitions on the up in Romania thanks to international deals
The mergers and acquisitions market in Romania will go up in the next 12 to 18 months, because of transnational deals, according to an EY report.
The report mentions the sale of Lafarge – Holcim assets, as well as the potential sale of companies held by Enel in Romania. The local M&A market reacted positively to developments abroad, and the general perception was that of an active market, which regains attractiveness in the eyes of investors.
There were 21 deals signed in Romania in the first six months of 2014, in finance, food industry, technology, as well as the do-it-yourself retail segment and real estate, which sees a new wave of interest.
