The number of building permits for residential buildings reached 1,674 in January this year, up 6.4% year-on-year.

Last year in January, the number of building permits issued was 1,573.

The most significant increases were recorded in the South-Muntenia (+ 47 permits), South-East (+41) and North-West regions (+35).

Decreases in the number of building permits issued appeared in the South-West Oltenia (-13 permits), West (-11) and North-East regions (-1).

Romania had new 2,828 housing units in January, up 13.12% year-on-year.
