Retailers from Dragonul Rosu park in Bucharest, investigated in EUR 8 mln tax evasion
Several companies with retail activities in the Dragonul Rosu compound in Bucharest, known for the high number of Chinese investors, are being investigated in a tax evasion case with damages ranging to EUR 8 million.
Romanian prosecutors started searches at the homes of company owners and at their headquarters. A group of 20 people will be taken for hearings after the searches, according to prosecutors.
Dragonul Rosu is a retail park near Bucharest, and it is owned by Niro Group. Retailers who leased space in the compound sell anything from clothes, electronics, IT&C, house and home items, in a total of 5,500 shops. The park is made of nine warehouses, and is usually the place where other retailers buy merchandise, and later re-sell it in various shops across Bucharest and Romania.
