Reuters report reveals most trusted news brands in Romania
Some 82% of Romanians get their news from the TV and 88% get their new online with 67% following the news in social media, according to Reuters Institute’s Digital News Report.
Meanwhile, only 42% of Romanians get their news from the radio and 18% get their news from print newspapers and magazines.
PRO TV, the biggest TV station in Romania, ranks first among TV, radio and print brands where Romanians get their news from, with a weekly usage of 66%, followed by Digi24 (43%) and Antena 1 (41%).
On the online segment, stirileprotv.ro, Yahoo!News and ziare.com rank as the main sources of news, followed by Digi24.ro, Hotnews and Adevarul online, according to the report.
The ranking is different, however, when it comes to the most trusted news sources in Romania. PRO TV, financial daily Ziarul Financiar, the public television TVR, the Digi24 news television and the Mediafax news agency are considered the most trustworthy by those who have heard about them. Ziarul Financiar is the most trusted news source by those who use it, the only one with a score over 8 (on a scale from 0 to 10).
Romanian media market, up 13% in 2017, expected to grow by 10% this year
