09 July 2010

An European Union-funded project aims to promote and develop tourism in the County of Hunedoara based on its historical and cultural inheritance from the Roman empire. This is part of the Ciudad program, with a budget of around EUR 617.000, which covers Italy,Tunis and Russia too. The wealth of products and materials left behind by the Roman empire will be inserted in the local tourism offer of these countries, in order to develop an interactive tourism product based on the cultural heritage. People will be able to see and experience for themselves the methods and materials used by the ancient Romans to make pottery, oil, wine.

The four countries will develop a network of contacts, collecting craftsmen, enterprises and small local operators, inviting them to join training workshops and assisting them in the sale of their products.
