Romania recorded about 420,000 unemployed in March this year. Almost a quarter of them benefitted from unemployment payment.

The unemployment rate reached 4.71%, down 0.86% year-on-year.

The unemployment among men dropped to 5.15% in March, whereas the jobless rate among women went down to 4.2% in the same month.

Most of those without jobs were aged 40-49, some 122,000 people, followed by the people aged 30-39, a group of almost 90,000 people. The lowest number of unemployed was among people aged 25-29, with almost 34,000.
