Romania, among Bulgarian tourists' favorite destinations

Bulgarians prefer to spend holidays in neighboring countries, including Romania, according to the National Statistical Institute in Sofia. In July this year, over 23,800 Bulgarians visited Romania, of which 9,630 came to spend their vacation and to recreate.

A total of 378,000 Bulgarians traveled abroad in July this year, an increase of 6.3 percent over the same period in 2010. Of these, 101,000 went abroad to spend holidays, according to the Bulgarian Statistical Institute. Their favorite holiday destinations were Greece, Turkey, Serbia and Romania.

Over 24,000 Bulgarians have chosen Greece, while 21,002 tourists have chosen Turkey and 18,000 went to Serbia.
