Romania has a better 4G network than the UK
The users of mobile phone services in the UK have a 4G network that is weaker than the networks of Romania, Albania, Panama, and Peru, according to a report published yesterday by the British National Infrastructure Commission (NIC).
According to this report, the UK ranks 54th in the world based on the 4G coverage. The country has areas where it is impossible to access the mobile internet.
“The roads and our railways are digital deserts,” according to the report.
In Romania, the number of 4G internet connections reached 3.7 million at the end of June this year, 2.5 times more compared to the end of June 2015, according to the National Communications Authority ANCOM. The 4G technology is thus used by over a quarter of the total broadband mobile internet clients in Romania.
Romania had a total of 14.8 million broadband internet connections at the end of June, and a penetration rate of 75% of the population, up 10 percentage points compared to June 2015. The 4G network coverage in Romania is 74% in case of Orange and Telekom Romania, and Vodafone already covers 372 cities in Romania with 4G+ internet networks.
