Romania could issue bonds on external markets
Romania could launch two bond issues on external markets this fall, said Diana Popescu, deputy general director within the State Treasury. The first Eurobonds issue could amount to EUR 1-1.5 billion.
“We have all the documents, we have selected the banks and we are ready for the launch, but we don’t hurry,” said Popescu, cited by local Capital.ro.
Given the situation in Greece, the Romanian state should wait for the right moment.
One of the bond issues will involve repurchasing or replacing previous bond issues. The second bond issue could reach EUR 500 million, Popescu said.
