Romania’s country brand becomes more valuable
The value of Romania’s country brand increased by 27% compared to last year, from USD 175 billion to USD 222 billion, according to the Nation Brands report by British consultancy firm Brand Finance.
Romania thus went up four places in the global ranking of the most valuable country brands, to 45th. The country is just behind Iran, whose country brand is evaluated at USD 234 billion.
Compared to last year’s ranking, Romania surpassed South Africa, Portugal and Nigeria.
The nation brand valuation is based on five-year forecasts of sales of all brands in each nation. Gross domestic product (GDP) is used as a proxy for total revenues.
United States has the most valuable brand in the world, evaluated at USD 25.9 trillion, up 23% compared to last year, followed by China – USD 12.78 trillion and Germany – USD 5.15 trillion.
