Romania, first in the region for number of law changes in one year
Romania ranks first in the region for the number of legislative changes made between August 2014 and August 2015, with 290 new laws. Over a third of them (40%) have impacted the business environment, according to the Grayling AcTrend report.
Romania is followed by Poland, with 249 law changes, and Hungary, with 214. The six countries in the Central and Eastern Europe saw 1,041 laws changed during this period, reports local Mediafax.
The local media mentioned about half of the law changes made in this period. By comparison, the media presented only 8.5% of the total law amendments carried out between 2013 and 2014.
Over half of the legislative initiatives that had impact on local companies were adopted by the Government via emergency ordinances.
