Romania’s flower market grows by 15%-20% per year
Romanian women receive over EUR 20 million worth of flowers on each March 8. At least one-third of women receive a bouquet that costs an average of RON 30 (EUR 6), according to a study by the consulting firm Frames.
The aggregate turnover of the local companies whose primary activity is flower wholesale exceeded RON 336 million (EUR 72 million) in 2017 while their profits rose significantly to RON 26.1 million (EUR 5.6 mln) the same year, up nearly RON 10 million from 2016.
The Romanian flower market continued to grow in 2018, on the background of consolidating purchasing power and extending services, with preliminary data showing an advance between 15-20% over the previous year, according to Frames analysts.
