Romania gets over 24,000 new homes in six months
Over 24,100 new homes were delivered in Romania in the first half of the year, up 23.4% compared to the same period last year, according to the National Statistics Institute (INS).
The number rose by over 4,500 compared to the first six months of 2015.
More than half of the new homes delivered during this period were located in urban areas. The north-west region saw 1,400 more new homes compared to last year. Bucharest recorded only a difference of 124 homes.
Only in the south-west Oltenia region did the number drop compared to last year.
In the second quarter of the year about 12,500 new homes were completed, up 2,200 year-on-year.
