Romania sees highest economic growth in EU in Q1
Romania registered the highest economic growth of all EU member states in the first quarter of this year when compared to the same period of last year.
Romania’s economy went up by 5.6% while the overall EU economy saw a 2.1% increase.
Slovenia came second, with a 5% growth rate in the first quarter, Lithuania was third, with 4.1%, and Latvia and Estonia came next, with 4%. Poland and Hungary also registered high growth rates, namely 3.8%, while Bulgaria’s economy went up by 3.5%, according to Eurostat data.
Romania also had the highest growth when compared to the previous quarter, namely 1.7%. Latvia was second, with 1.6%, and Slovenia was third, with 1.5%.
The quarterly economic growth in the EU was 0.6%.
