Romania hosts Vodafone's Danubius Center for network management in 7 European countries
Vodafone Romania has recently launched the Danubius Regional Network Operations Center in Bucharest, which is currently monitoring the 2G, 3G and 4G networks and manages incidents for Vodafone Italy, Vodafone Greece, Vodafone Germany and Vodafone Romania.
Starting April 2013, the Danubius Center team, comprising 250 Romanian engineers, will also manage the operator’s networks in three other countries, namely Vodafone Netherlands, Vodafone Czech Republic, and Vodafone Albania.
“Choosing to operate the Vodafone Regional Center in Romania is an extraordinary achievement, that honors us and confirms the country’s human and technological potential,” said Inaki Berroeta, President and CEO, Vodafone Romania.
The total number of clients that communicate in the seven Vodafone networks monitored from the Regional Center in Bucharest amounts to 90 million. Danubius Center is located in two technical offices in Bucharest - in Pipera and Avrig.
Vodafone Romania, part of Vodafone Group PLC., had service revenues of GBP 143 million (some EUR 177 million) in the quarter ended on December 31, 2012. In November last year, the telecom operator launched 4G services in Romania.
