Mircea Daneliuc has been directing films since the 70s, but is best known for his early 90s movies, such as Senatorul melcilor/The Snails' Senator from 1995, A 11-a poruncă/The 11-th Commandment from 1991, Tusea şi junghiul /The Toothless War from 1992, Patul conjugal/The Conjugal Bed from 1993 and Această lehamite/Fed Up, from 1994.

His latest movie was released in 2009.

Danieliuc, born in 1943 in an area which is now part of Ukraine, is also a writer and a stage director. He graduated the philology faculty in Iasi, in Northern Romania, in 1966 and later on in filmmaking at the Theater and Film University in Bucharest, in 1976.

Between 1990 and 1995, he was head of Alpha Films International in Bucharest, and between 1997 and 1998, he lead Rofilm.

Daneliuc wrote and published 13 novels, and 19 theater plays. He also directed some theater plays, and in his early years was also an actor. He also chose to appear in a 2003 film that he directed, Ambasadori, căutăm Patrie/Ambassadors, looking for a country.
