Romania has maintained its target to join the euro zone in 2015, the Government has announced. A ministry meeting on this topic was held in Bucharest this week and covered the state of Romania's convergence towards adopting the euro. Fulfillment of the euro adoption criteria is an essential indicator for the European Commission, as well as for international markets, according to the Romanian Government.

The actual moment of joining the euro zone depends on the European and worldwide developments, on the coherence of macroeconomic policies and implementing the structural reforms.

This committee made of Government and Central Bank representatives meets once every quarter . The latest meeting was held at the Romanian Central Bank headquarters.
