Romania, largest workforce exporter in the EU
Slightly over 7 million European Union citizens worked and lived in an EU country other than their own. Some 1.29 million of these were Romanians, according to official data published by the European Commission. This makes Romania by far the largest “exporter” of workforce within the EU.
Poland was second, with 1.06 million Polish citizens working in other EU countries in 2013. Italy and Portugal came next. The full statistic as well as trends in labor mobility within the EU are available here.
