Romania reaches 80% absorption rate for 2014-2020 Large Infrastructure Operational Program
Romania's Ministry of European Projects sent to the Finance Ministry for the European Commission invoices worth EUR 281 million for projects under the EU-funded 2014-2020 Large Infrastructure Operational Program (LIOP).
Out of the total allocation of EUR 9.33 bln under the 2014-2020 LIOP, the EC already disbursed Romania EUR 6.57 bln by the end of May, News.ro reported.
The total amount invoiced by Romania was at that time EUR 7.53 bln, meaning an absorption rate of over 80%.
There are six months left under the t+3 calendar of the 2014-2020 financial framework, and the minister of investments and European projects highlighted the need for close cooperation between authorities and beneficiaries of projects that can still be financed by the end of the year, such as to increase the absorption rate as much as possible.
