Romania more attractive for expats than Spain, Italy, France and the UK

Romania ranks 27th out of 64 countries worldwide, based on its attractiveness for expats, according to the Expat Insider 2015 survey made by expat social network InterNations. Romania also passes as one of the most welcoming countries, and a destination preferred by lower-income expats, according to the survey.

Overall, Romania ranks better than Japan (28), Hungary (29), and Spain (30). It also tops the UK (31), France (47), Italy (58), or the Scandinavian countries.

The best countries for expats in Europe are Malta, which is also 3rd worldwide, and Luxembourg (5), followed by Austria (11), Switzerland (14), Poland (15), Germany (16), Portugal (20), Czech Republic (22), and the Netherlands (25).

The top countries expats prefer are Ecuador and Mexico while Nigeria, Greece, and Kuwait are last in the ranking.

Some 14,000 respondents from 195 countries have participated in the survey. More detailed information is available here.
