Romania gives more money to refugees
Romania’s Government has approved a draft project which increases the amounts granted to asylum seekers. The monthly expenses for a refugee are estimated at some EUR 253 for the warm season and EUR 268 during winter.
According to the new draft project, an asylum seeker in Romania would receive monthly RON 300 (EUR 68) for food and RON 180 (EUR 40.7) as pocket money, reports local Mediafax. The current law provides that an asylum seeker gets RON 90 (EUR 20.3) for food and RON 18 (EUR 4) as pocket money monthly.
Refugees should also get money for rent and overheads expenses. They would get around EUR 100 month for rent as well as RON 120 (EUR 27) for expenses in summer, and RON 155 (EUR 35) for winter expenses.
They would also receive about EUR 22.6 for clothes for the cold season and EUR 15.1 for the warm season.
