Romania posts second highest industrial production growth in the EU in March
Romania’s 9.6 percent growth in industrial production in March 2014 compared to March 2013 was the second highest in the European Union, according to data released by Eurostat. Only Luxembourg posted a higher increase in industrial production (13.5 percent).
Romania is followed by Hungary, with an 8.1 percent growth, and the Czech Republic, with 7.2 percent, while Poland reported a 5.5 percent increase. The average growth in industrial production for the 28 EU member states was just 0.5 percent, while the average for the 18 states in the Eurozone shows a decline of 0.1 percent.
Europe’s worst performing industry in March was that of the Netherlands, which fell by 12.5 percent.
